Belle

      The movie Belle was based on a true story of Dido Elizabeth, an illegitimate mixed-race daughter of Captain John Lindsay, who was a Royal Navy Officer. The movie Belle is a very interesting and touching movie. the three aspects of this move that stand out are its story, the dramatic and its cinematic aspects. 
     

     As what i said before, Dido Belle was an illegitimate mixed-race daughter of Captain John Lindsay. Captain John Lindsay brought Dido Belle out of slavery when she was about 7 years old. There are two conflicts in this story. First, Dido Belle was of different colour than her family and officially recognizing her as one of the Lindsay's makes people turn twice. Second, as Dido Belle grew into a lovely lady, her questions grew as well. However,later in the movie this was resolve through the help of John Davinier. Some people thinks its boring based on the fact that Belle was to be played as  though it was in the 18th century. The story didn't end there, instead there were more surprises.

      In the dramatic aspect of the movie, aside from the well written story, the elegant costumes and the magical scenery added more 18th century style. The award winning "Gemini Award for Best Costume Design", Anushia Nieradzik didn't let anyone down. Instead she showed her skills through her glamorous designs of Elegant dresses and suits.  
      The movie has a great sceneries and the way the props as well as the antiques were placed added more on the vintage style. 

        The cinematography in Belle was outstanding. there was great quality and scenery, as well as the costumes were really emphasised. Watching the movie seemed to bring you into a different world. A world where everything is possible and cartoonish like. Perhaps, Alice in Wonderland or Disney princesses. From the Mansfield Halls, to the docks where ships land ,and even the inside of the carriage were exquisite.  

      The story in this movie doesn't have a traditional love story like what we always see in most movies like Cinderella. the movie makes you wonder, if you were in Dido Belle's shoes what would you do? Having such a well written story and great actors/ actresses in the movie had a big impact. That the ones watching are moved and share the same emotion on different scenarios. These reasons are enough to watch a great movie like Belle
